How to connect with Mrs. Goodpasture and the Wellness Lab

Student Self-Referrals

  • Students can complete a hard copy form (available outside the Wellness Lab) to request a non-urgent meeting with Mrs. Goodpasture or ask their teacher.

  • For urgent needs: Students can ask their teacher for a pass to the Wellness Lab during open hours (or the office if closed). This should only be used when the need is so big or overwhelming that it can't wait any longer.

Parent Referrals

  • Parents are strongly encouraged to talk to their student's teacher about any concerns with their student.

  • If parents have non-urgent mental health concerns that they would like to discuss with their students, they can make a referral through this Google form.

Teacher Referrals

  • Teachers may refer a student if they have a concern or see a need. They refer students through the Coordination of Services Team (COST).

Students can use the Wellness Lab for 15-minute breaks to calm down and self-regulate. Every time they visit, they sign in and out about how they feel and what skills they used.

Some wellness lab calming strategies are:

  • Talking with the counselor
  • Canine comfort
  • Fidgets/sensory tools
  • Calming corner with stuffies or reading a book
  • Calm app
  • YouTube calming videos with music
  • Coloring books, posters, drawing
  • Puzzles

Photos of the space are coming soon!
